How do I join or renew my membership?

Membership dues are collected on a yearly basis.  Dues enable you to participate in monthly meetings, access to WWG's forums discussion and information site, and reduced prices for various classes and workshops held throughout the year.  You will also receive the Guild's monthly newsletter, 'The Wooden Word', via either email or regular mail and via the online Forums.

When and where are your meetings?

Meetings are normally held on the third Tuesday of the month (except August) at 7:30pm at the Bryant Center, Alexandria, VA.  A typical meeting consists of a business portion to discuss the status of the club, upcoming events, group book & tool purchases, and other Guild activities.  The business portion of the meeting is then followed by a 'Special Program' highlighting some new aspect of woodworking for skill enhancement and education.

I’m a beginning Woodworker, how do I get involved in the Guild?” ?

Washington Woodworkers Guild is a volunteer run organization. We are guided by the belief that active participation be all guild members will result in a better woodworking experience for every member. We encourage all members to contribute their time in support of various Guild sponsored events. To this point there are many tasks that Guild member can undertake that do not require extensive woodworking skills. For example:

Start a forum topic—ask a question and engage other members in a woodworking discussion.
• Post a book or video review
• Post a school/class review
• Coordinate a monthly meeting
• Coordinate a Masters Weekend workshop
• Sponsor a piece of shop equipment (perform preventative and corrective maintenance)
• Donate a book or video to the Guild library
• Volunteer to be a Guild Coordinator
• Volunteer to help a Guild Coordinator
• Volunteer your professional skills and/or experience to the Guild
